What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy of Tenants because the Tenants have abandoned the rental unit. The Tenants have moved most of their belongings and have not been seen on the premises since the end of March 2021. The Tenants have not paid rent for months.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing by October 29, 2021, they will start to owe simple interest calculated at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
