What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Tenant's employment as superintendent has ended. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenant is terminated as of August 4, 2021, the date the Tenant returned vacant possession to the Landlord. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $3,707.55 in compensation for the use of the unit from June 3, 2021 to August 4, 2021, and $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 19, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
