What happened
Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent and because the Tenant entered into an agreement to terminate the tenancy, but did not vacate the unit until May 24, 2020.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlords and the Tenant is terminated on May 24, 2020. The Tenant shall pay the Landlords $4,357, which represents the amount of rent owing and compensation up to May 24, 2020, less the rent deposit and interest the Landlords owe on the rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlords $190 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by April 6, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
