What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective July 30, 2021. The Tenant did not attend the hearing and had not paid the total rent required from July 1, 2021 to February 28, 2022.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 18, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $1,452.00 on or before that date. The Tenant is ordered to pay $994.71 for rent arrears and compensation, plus $186.00 for the application filing fee. Daily compensation of $5.29 is owed for each day of occupation starting February 8, 2022. If the unit is not vacated by February 18, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement.
