What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent and persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The L1 application was discontinued. The Tenant shall pay the lawful monthly rent to the Landlord in full on or before the first day of each month for the next 12 consecutive months, from March 1, 2021 to February 28, 2022. If the Tenant fails to make any one of the payments, the Landlord may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant. The Tenant will pay the outstanding file fee of $190.00 on or before March 11, 2021. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing on or before February 22, 2021, they will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
