What happened

Landlord applied for termination of tenancy and eviction due to non-payment of rent, persistent late payment, substantial interference with reasonable enjoyment, and wilful or negligent damage to the rental unit. Tenant was absent from the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective July 31, 2022. The Tenant must pay $5,885.18 to the Landlord for rent arrears and application fees, plus $21.63 per day from June 15, 2022, until move-out. If not paid by July 31, 2022, interest will accrue at 2% annually. The Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting August 1, 2022, if the unit is not vacated.
