What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent owed. Tenant had vacated the rental unit on August 1, 2022, prior to the hearing date. Tenant did not pay the total rent required for the period from April 1, 2021 to August 1, 2022.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $3,665.93, which includes rent arrears up to August 1, 2022, and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest owing. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by December 3, 2022, interest will start accruing at 4.00% annually on the outstanding balance from December 4, 2022.
