What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant was not present at the hearing, but the Landlord agreed that the Board could direct a payment plan considering the amount of arrears and payments made by the Tenant.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay $1,686.00 for arrears of rent up to March 31, 2023 and costs, in 4 monthly installments of $421.50 from April to July 2023. The Tenant shall also pay new rent on time and in full as it comes due from April 1, 2023 to July 1, 2023, or until the arrears are paid in full, whichever date is earliest. If the Tenant fails to make any one of the payments, the outstanding balance shall become immediately due and owing, and the Landlord may apply to the LTB for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant.
