What happened

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective March 7, 2020 when the Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Tenants are ordered to pay $2,148.89 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by March 18, 2021, they will owe simple interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance.
