What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 7, 2022. The Tenant must move out by January 7, 2022 and pay the Landlords $6,203.79 for use of the unit from September 1, 2021 to December 20, 2021, plus $55.89 per day from December 21, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 7, 2022, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
