What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for residential occupation for at least one year. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 23, 2023. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by this date or face eviction. The Tenant is ordered to pay $65.75 per day for each day of occupation starting July 1, 2022, until they move out or are evicted, less any rent already paid during this period.
