What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation by his son.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 20, 2021. The Tenant must vacate the unit by that date. The Tenant owes the Landlord $3,299.82, which includes compensation for use of the unit from April 1, 2021 to the move-out date, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 20, 2021, they will owe interest on the outstanding balance.
