What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on March 31, 2022 and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from September 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,983.63, which includes rent arrears owing up to March 31, 2022 and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest owing. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 14, 2022, they will start to owe simple interest at 4.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
