What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent and outstanding utility bills. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective July 15, 2021. The Tenants must move out by that date. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlords $3,421.03 for unpaid utility bills, $17,797.16 for compensation for use of the unit from October 27, 2020 to June 30, 2021, and $82.19 per day for compensation for use of the unit from July 1, 2021 until they move out. The Tenants must also pay the $186 application fee. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by July 15, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
