What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation by the Landlord's father.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenants must vacate the rental unit by October 19, 2021. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $9,477.93, which includes compensation for use of the unit from February 15, 2021 to the move-out date, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by October 19, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
