What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent, serious impairment of safety, intent to convert the rental unit to non-residential use, and persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant had vacated the rental unit on March 31, 2020, prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlords $3,260 in rent arrears and $190 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by July 31, 2021, they will start accruing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
