What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent owed. The Landlord initially sought $3,295.87 but amended the application at the hearing to $1,300.00 for the period of December 2021 to February 2022, as they had erroneously included hydro fees which were not rent. Additional rent for March 2022 to October 2022 had become due since the application was filed.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $14,001.00, which includes rent arrears up to October 31, 2022, and the cost of the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 25, 2022, interest will start accruing at 4.00% annually on the outstanding balance from November 26, 2022.
