What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent, damage to the rental unit, and substantial interference. The Landlord served a valid N4 Notice, but the Tenants did not void the notice by paying the arrears.
The ruling
The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $6,689 in rent arrears to July 31, 2019, and $190 for the application filing fee. If the full amount is not paid by January 3, 2020, the Tenants will start owing interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance. No termination of the tenancy is granted, but further arrears may be subject to another notice.
