What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to abandonment of the unit, damage to the premises, and safety impairment. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant is terminated as of December 4, 2021 as the Tenant has abandoned the rental unit. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by July 12, 2022, they will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
