What happened
Landlords filed two applications: L1 for non-payment of rent and L2 for personal use of the rental unit. Tenants did not attend the hearing. Landlords sought termination of tenancy and eviction due to rent arrears and their intention to occupy the unit for residential purposes.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective June 24, 2022. Tenants must pay $24,193.32 to Landlords for rent arrears and filing fees, minus rent deposit and interest. Tenants must also pay $41.10 per day from June 8, 2022, until they vacate. If not vacated by June 24, 2022, Landlords may enforce eviction through the Sheriff.
