What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's failure to pay rent arrears as specified in a previous mediated settlement.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 18, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $10,224.23, which includes rent arrears up to August 7, 2020 and the costs related to the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $54.90 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting August 8, 2020 until the Tenant vacates. If the full amount is not paid by August 18, 2020, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
