Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for his parent.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 13, 2022. The Tenant must move out by that date and pay the Landlord $5,872.18 in compensation for use of the unit from November 1, 2021 to February 2, 2022, plus $62.47 per day from February 3, 2022 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 13, 2022, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
