What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on April 14, 2022, and the Landlord amended the application to an L9 application solely for arrears of rent and the filing fee.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $5,512.33, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 31, 2022, they will start to owe interest at 4% annually on the outstanding balance.
