What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on December 31, 2021 and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from October 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay to the Landlord $2,436.00, which includes rent arrears owing up to and the cost of the application. If the Tenant does not pay the Landlord the full amount owing on or before July 23, 2022, the Tenant will start to owe interest at a rate of 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
