What happened
Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlord failed to meet obligations related to suite meters under the Residential Tenancies Act. Tenants wanted the Landlord to assume responsibility for electricity charges and set new rent, citing lack of informed consent when signing up with the electricity supplier.
The ruling
The Tenants' application was dismissed without prejudice. The Board was ordered to pay the Landlord $1,114.50 plus accrued interest, which was being held in Trust. The Landlord's acceptance of these funds is on a without prejudice basis.
