What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant was not present at the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 9, 2021. The Tenant must move out by August 20, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $7,810.65, which represents compensation for the use of the unit from February 1, 2021 to August 9, 2021, less any rent amounts paid by the Tenant, the rent deposit and interest the Landlord owes on the rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $48.75 per day for compensation for the use of the unit from August 10, 2021 to the date the Tenant moves out, and $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 20, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
