What happened

Landlords applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant was in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed but vacated the unit on April 30, 2021.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlords $1,498.66, which represents the amount of rent owing up to April 30, 2021, less the rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlords $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. The total amount owing is $1,699.66. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 10, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
