What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant allowing unauthorized occupants to live in the unfinished basement, and the Tenant accessing the building's electricity through an extension cord, which posed safety hazards. The Landlord also alleged threatening behavior by the Tenant, but this was not properly included in the N7 notice.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must vacate the rental unit by August 20, 2022. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $21.37 per day for use of the unit from July 28, 2022 until the move-out date, as well as the $186 application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 20, 2022, they will owe interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance.
