What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice of Termination, which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The Tenant had not vacated the rental unit at the time of the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective July 24, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $3,369.43 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $186.00 for the application fee, and $7.69 per day in compensation starting July 14, 2021 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by July 24, 2021, the Tenant will start owing interest and the Landlord can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
