What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to non-payment of rent. The tenants were in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed and had not paid the total rent owed for the period from October 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.

The ruling

The tenants shall pay the landlord $175.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the tenants do not pay the full amount owing by September 6, 2020, they will start to owe simple interest calculated at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
