What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. The Tenants did not attend the hearing. The Landlord's application was amended to include outstanding rent for September 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 29, 2022, unless the Tenants void the order by paying $4,561.00 by that date. The Tenants must pay $2,074.98 for rent arrears and compensation up to January 4, 2022, plus $41.10 per day from January 5, 2022, until they move out. The Tenants must also pay $186.00 for the application filing cost. If the full amount is not paid by January 29, 2022, the Landlord may enforce the eviction through the Sheriff's office.
