What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice of Termination effective September 22, 2021, which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The Tenant was not present at the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 4, 2022. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $2,679.66 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $52.60 per day starting January 25, 2022 until the Tenant vacates. The Tenant must also pay $186 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not make the full payment by February 4, 2022, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office to enforce the eviction.
