What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Landlords require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 31, 2022. The Tenant must vacate the unit by that date. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlords $3,373.26 in compensation for use of the unit from November 1, 2021 to February 22, 2022, and $29.59 per day from February 23, 2022 until the Tenant vacates. The Tenant must also pay the $186 application fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by March 5, 2022, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
