What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Tenant, another occupant of the rental unit or someone the Tenant permitted in the residential complex has seriously impaired the safety of any person.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before August 12, 2020. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $10,621.03, which represents compensation for the use of the unit from December 6, 2019 to August 7, 2020, less the rent deposit and interest the Landlord owes on the rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $49.32 per day for compensation for the use of the unit from August 8, 2020 to the date the Tenant moves out of the unit, and $175.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by August 12, 2020, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
