What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late rent payments. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective December 31, 2021. The Tenant must vacate the unit by that date. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $1,878.78, which includes compensation for use of the unit from October 1 to December 1, 2021, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant must also pay $59.53 per day for compensation for use of the unit from December 2, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by December 31, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance. If the unit is not vacated by December 31, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement.
