Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 1, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $2,687.30, which represents the rent owing to July 21, 2021 and the Landlord's filing fee, less the rent deposit and interest owing on the deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $49.32 per day in compensation for the use of the unit from July 22, 2021 to the date that she vacates the rental unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by August 1, 2021, she will owe simple interest calculated from August 2, 2021 at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
