What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent and substantial interference. The Tenant did not pay rent and utility bills, and the Landlord attempted to negotiate a repayment plan but the Tenant was unresponsive.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective June 5, 2021. The Tenant must vacate the unit by this date and pay the Landlord $6,786.30 in rent arrears, compensation, and application fees. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by June 5, 2021, they will start accruing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance. The Landlord can file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction after June 6, 2021.
