What happened

Tenant applied for an order determining that the Landlord failed to meet its maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 or failed to comply with health, safety, housing or maintenance standards. The Tenant claimed the rental unit was not fit for habitation due to mice and bed bugs from November 21, 2019 to January 31, 2020.

The ruling

The T6 application is dismissed. The Landlord responded to the Tenant's complaints about mice and bed bugs in a reasonable and prompt manner, and the Tenant failed to establish that the Landlord breached its maintenance obligations under the Act.
