What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to undue damage to the premises and serious impairment of safety. The issues were related to a broken farm tractor left in the field and the unauthorized use of the fireplace.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 31, 2017. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $2,083.33, which represents compensation for use of the unit from April 7, 2017 to June 1, 2017, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $82.19 per day for compensation for use of the unit from June 2, 2017 until they move out, as well as $175 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by August 31, 2017, they will owe interest starting September 1, 2017.
