What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant was properly served with notice of the hearing but did not attend.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective October 26, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $12,408.51 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $175 in application fees, and $29.59 per day starting October 16, 2020 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant pays $13,032 on or before October 26, 2020, the eviction order will be void and the Tenant can remain in the unit.
