What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 4, 2022. The Tenants must move out by that date and pay the Landlord $3,284.49 in compensation for use of the unit from September 1, 2021 to December 20, 2021, plus $29.59 per day from December 21, 2021 until they move out. If the full amount is not paid by December 31, 2021, interest will accrue.
