What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant's fiancé attended the hearing and indicated the Tenant would be able to participate at noon, but neither the Tenant nor the fiancé returned to the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective October 31, 2021. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $13,951, which includes rent arrears and the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 15, 2021, they will owe interest. If the unit is not vacated by October 31, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement.
