What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on June 30, 2021 and did not pay the total rent for the period from May 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective June 30, 2021, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $1,206.94 in rent arrears and $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by December 10, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
