What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenants have been late in paying the monthly rent 10 times over the period of one year.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the rent on or before the 1st day of the month commencing May 1, 2021, up to and including April 1, 2022. If the Tenants fail to make any of the payments, the Landlord may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenants. The Tenants are also ordered to pay the Landlords $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing by May 9, 2021, they will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
