What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. Landlord also claimed Tenant or another occupant substantially interfered with the Landlord's or another tenant's reasonable enjoyment, and committed an illegal act or carried out an illegal trade, business or occupation involving illegal drugs.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 6, 2022. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $15,847.91 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $57.53 per day starting January 27, 2022 until the Tenant vacates. The Tenant must also pay the $201 application fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 6, 2022, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction. The Tenant can void the order by paying $16,251 by January 31, 2022 or $18,001 by February 6, 2022.
