What happened

Tenants filed T1, T2, and T5 applications against Landlord for bad faith eviction, harassment, and illegal retention of last month's rent deposit. Landlord attempted to evict Tenants for personal use without proper N12 notice, then served multiple eviction notices when Tenants refused to leave. Tenants eventually moved out due to deteriorating relationship with Landlord.

The ruling

The Board dismissed the Tenants' T5 application for bad faith eviction and T2 application for harassment. However, the T1 application was granted, ordering the Landlord to pay $2,300 to the Tenants for illegally retaining the last month's rent deposit.
