What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent and damages as per the mediated settlement agreement. The Tenants failed to make the required payments by the due dates.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 14, 2024. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $16,476.65 for rent arrears and $27,570.66 for unpaid compensation for damage, plus $80.55 per day for use of the unit starting January 4, 2024 until they move out. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by January 14, 2024, they will owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
