What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to substantial interference with the Landlord's rights and privileges, and the Tenants' actions seriously impairing the safety of others in the residential complex. The Tenants failed to keep the unit in a state of ordinary cleanliness, resulting in fire safety hazards.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective October 2, 2022. The Tenants must vacate the unit by that date. If they do not, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for enforcement. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $2,268.74, which includes compensation for use of the unit, the application filing fee, and interest if the amount is not paid by October 2, 2022.
