What happened

Tenant applied for an order determining that Landlord entered the rental unit illegally and altered the locking system on a door giving entry to the rental unit or residential complex without giving the Tenant replacement keys.

The ruling

The Landlord shall not charge or collect any rent from the Tenant for the period from February 2, 2017 up to the date the Tenant regains possession of the rental unit. The Landlord shall pay the Tenant $533.00 for the reasonable out-of-pocket motel/inn expenses incurred by the Tenant due to the illegal lock-out.
