What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to pay rent for the period from March 1, 2021 to July 31, 2021. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective March 26, 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 16, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $1,851.01 (less any payments made after July 5, 2021) on or before January 16, 2022. The Tenant must pay $1,535.41 (less any payments made after July 5, 2021) plus $5.49 per day starting January 6, 2022, for rent arrears and compensation. If the Tenant does not pay or move out by January 16, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction with the Sheriff starting January 17, 2022.
